Welcome to the Autumn Term. We hope you have had a lovely Summer. The children have settled in very well and are having a happy and successful time!.

Friday - Birthday Celebration Assembly, Star of the Week and Courtesy of the Week (a slip will be sent home on Thursdays if your child has been chosen to receive a certificate)
Our topics for Spring Term Two are:
English - The picture book we are using this half term is Wanted The Perfect Pet by Fiona Robertson. The book is about a little boy called Henry and all he wants is a dog for a pet. We will be using this book as a stimulus for writing our own non fiction reports about dogs. We will also be looking at information books on different types of pets. The PDSA will be visiting the children and they will take part in a workshop on how to look after a pets and the Five Basic Animal Needs on Thursday 28th March.
Maths - Number and Addition to at least twenty. The children will be finding pairs of numbers that add up to ten and twenty e.g. 15+5, 16+4, 7+3. The will be adding and taking away with numbers to at least twenty and problem solving. The children will use a range of mathematical equipment to help them with their maths learning such as using counters, bricks, numicon, number lines and drawing pictures.
Science - Animals Including Humans - learning about pets and the life cycles of pets.
Computing - Learning to use Powerpoint to create a simple presentation All About Me.
PE - Cheerleading
Topic - Maps and Globes.
Art - Printing and collages
Design and Technology - Investigating moving parts in books. The children will be creating their own simple moving pictures based on our English text Wanted The Perfect Pet.
