Please can children bring their costumes into school by Friday 13th July, ready for our dress rehearsal on the following Monday.
As part of our work on Habitats, we welcomed Snuggles to 3/4C for the day. We wrote our own guides on how to take care of hamsters and looked at a hamster's natural habitat. We learnt some surprising facts such as a hamster's cheek pouch extends all the way to their hips so they can store plenty of food. Our favourite part was watching Snuggles play in her ball and watching a clip of mischievous hamsters getting up to no good!
We designed and made Ancient Egyptian masks using papier-mâché.
Children In Need 2017
Well done to the children who 'did their thing' for Children in Need. We learnt about swimming, horse-riding, golf and ballet.
Summer Show 2017
On the evening of 12th July, we performed our version of 'Room on the Broom' in the Year 3/4 Julia Donaldson Summer Show. Well done to all Year 3 and 4 pupils who danced, sang and acted in the show. You were fantastic!
On Tuesday 16th May, two Romans visited Aldwyn. One was a Roman soldier called Caius and the other, a civilian, called Quintus. We had great fun learning about the Roman army and how Romans lived.
D&T - Making Pancakes
We had great fun designing and making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday.
Science - Rocks & Fossils
We have been learning about different types of rocks, fossils and soils and have made our very own edible conglomerate 'rocks'.
Fairfield Moravian Settlement
On the 10th and 11th November, all the children in Y3/4 went to visit the Moravian Settlement in Droylsden as part of our local area studies. We had a guided tour around the settlement and took part in activities such as dressing as an early Moravian and enjoying a look around their wonderful museum.
Religions in Our Neighbourhood - Islam
This afternoon, Zainab kindly taught our class about the Five Pillars of Islam, how adults pray, Arabic numbers and alphabet and how the Quran is read.
As part of our work on bodies, we have been learning about the bones which make up the human skeleton.
Ancient Greek Banquet 25.7.16
Year 3/4 designed and made Ancient Greek tunics and headpieces and then had a fun afternoon of Greek dancing and food.
The Wiz 20.7.16
Well done to 3/4C on your performance of The Wiz. You were superstars!
After our topic on working Victorian children, we had a class discussion on their rights as a child and the responsibilities they have to ensure that everyone is treated fairly.
Autumn 2 2015
We decorated Christmas biscuits and learnt the art of book folding with Mrs.Nottage.
Design & Technology

The children were developing their use of causal conjunctions by practising oral explanations in the style of 'How 2'.
We have conducted an investigation on the effects that different liquids have on tooth enamel. We submerged 5 eggs in popular drinks for 5 days. Here are the results of our 'eggciting' investigation...

22nd July 2015 - Roman Day
Today, 3/4C dressed up as Romans and took part in a morning of baking, feasting and mosaic-making.
THE LION KING
On the evening of Wednesday 15th July 2015, the children of 3/4C gave a wonderful performance of Disney's 'The Lion King'.
Well done to all of the talented boys and girls for your hard work; Mrs. Newton and Mrs. Corbett for the amazing props and headdresses and a big thank you to parents/family members for the fantastic costumes and support of the show.
10th July 2015 - Aldwinians RUFC
This sunny afternoon, Y3/4 visited our local rugby club to reinforce our ball skills through some very enjoyable games.
Mr. Rose, from Audenshaw School, is teaching 3/4C how to play cricket this half term. Mackenzie was our 'P.E Star' this week for scoring a whopping 28 runs!
The class have been learning about different rocks and their uses. Today we made a yummy rock cake to explain how a breccia rock is formed.
On Monday 23rd March, 3/4C visited Manchester Museum to find out more information about the Stone Age to Iron Age periods. We became archaeologists for the morning and solved the mystery of the 'Thunderstone'. We also held real tools from the Stone Age!
In the afternoon, we enjoyed exploring the rest of the museum.
