Design and technology is a practical subject, which involves children in both designing and making products. Its practical nature will help our children to develop their skills and knowledge of a wide range of materials and equipment. Children are encouraged to work together to design and plan and then make models in a variety of materials, using a range of different tools. This process allows children to use their own ideas, to experiment and to evaluate the outcomes of their work.
In some circumstances where pupils wish to take home the results of work done in school it may be necessary to ask parents for a small contribution. This is very unlikely but children will be consulted before certain projects are undertaken if this is to be the case.
