This week the children have been mystified by footprints left in the classroom. They have been detectives trying to work out who or what has left the mess. On Tuesday a special book was found in the cave and they have enjoyed sharing the story together. I’m sure it’s one of your favourites too, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.

In maths lessons the children have been measuring the footprints and other objects in the classroom. They have drawn around their feet and predicted how many bricks long they are.🦢 They had to measure their feet to check the estimations. Super maths work πŸ˜€πŸ‘

This week  children have been talking about the people who are special to them and why? They sat beautifully still and quiet while we respected the two minute silence on Wednesday. We talked about saying thank you to those who help us and the children loved seeing the royal family, listening to the chimes of Big Ben and the special ‘trumpet’ music. We also made poppies and poppy printing pictures.

We have a great time on our autumn walk, the weather was very kind to us. The children looked for signs of autumn and loved watching the leaves blowing from the trees. πŸπŸ‚

Our favourite part was squelching through the mud, I’m glad we were wearing our wellies πŸ˜€

This week we enjoyed the ‘big apparatus’ in the P.E. session. Look how much fun we had πŸ₯‡πŸ˜€

The children looked fantastic in their costumes and we had a fun last day of term. Spooky crafts were made and the children showed off there wonderful outfits in our very own ‘catwalk’ - I have a class of super models!
All the reception children have been very lucky had received a gift from the Book Trust. I am sure you will love sharing this book- The Runaway Pea together over the holidays. The children have had a very busy and wonderful first half term, they deserve this break. Have a lovely week and thank you for all your support this term.
This week the children have learning all about harvest and singing harvest songs. We especially like ‘Pumpkin Head’ and ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’. We loved making pumpkin hats. πŸŽƒ

This week the children have enjoyed more activities linked to our text. They have retold the story  and used pictures to sequence the key parts of the text.  The children have  written or verbally said an ‘I can see’ sentence using the farm scene. Well done for a super, hard working week πŸ‘πŸ˜€

We had lots of fun during our first PE session this week. The children were challenged to travel in different ways over the apparatus.
