PE - Tuesday and Friday - Please ensure that your child has their named PE kit in school for the term.
Library - Monday - Please return your child's library book for this day so it can be changed.
Reading Book - The reading books are changed each week - Friday and two books given (where possible).
For library and reading book days please ensure the library book, reading record book and reading books are returned on these days so they can be changed. Unfortunately due to the amount of books in school we will not be able to change books unless they are brought back.
Drinks - We are a healthy school so could you please support our policy on putting water not juice in your children's water bottle. Please speak to a member of the team is you need support with this.
Friday - Celebration assembly - On Friday morning you are welcome to join this celebration assembly where the children can bring in any certificates, medals or trophies that have been awarded out of school. If your child has been chosen for the school star or courtesy award they will be informed at the end of the day on Thursday.
Home school Book - Each Friday this book will be sent home for your child to draw a picture, practise some writing or share exciting news about your weekend. This news is often shared in school on Monday. We also may include pictures from events in school or a small piece of homework that will relate to activities in school.
If you have any questions about any aspects of your child's learning please do not hesitate to speak to your class teacher.
Thank you for your support.
Thank you for sending in all the lovely Easter bonnets. The children looked fantastic and sang beautifully during the Easter celebration assembly. We also had a fashion show, the children loved showing off their creations!!
We had lots of fun learning all about the journey Handa made to see her friend. We acted out the story and each child played a different character, they had to remember the animals in order and which fruit the animal took from Handa's hat. We tasted the fruits and made charts to decide which we liked the best. We researched facts about animals and we specifically looked in detail all about elephants. The children became authors and illustrators of their own information book about elephants, they had to recall interesting facts and write simple sentences.
Here are a few pictures of this busy term!!
Welcome back after a lovely break, we have been very lucky with the weather!
This term we are very excited for World Book Day on Thursday 7th March 2019. The children are invited to dress up as their favourite character and we will be doing some work around the text 'Giraffes Can't Dance'. This will inform our learning for 2 weeks and then we will move onto the book Handa's Surprise.
During this half term we have a few special events to focus on such as Pancake day, Mother's day and Easter celebrations. Excellent opportunities for more craft activities!!
If the weather continues to be so nice please ensure your child has a water bottle with them in school and labelled cardigans and jumpers.
Many thanks for your continued support and if you ever have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to me or any member of the team.
We hope you had a lovely summer!
It has been wonderful to meet the children this week and they have all settled so well.
They have been very excited to meet their new friends and to play in the different areas.
Our focus for the next few weeks will be to ensure the children are settled and happy coming into school. We know it is an anxious and exciting time for families so if you have any concerns or questions, any member staff will be happy to help.
On Friday the children will be bringing home their first reading book!!
It is an opportunity to share special, quiet time with your child.
We do not expect your child to be able to read the words but you can talk about what is happening in the pictures.
