Welcome to Mr Loy's Class
Week Beginning Monday 14th September 2020
It has been a pleasure to welcome all the children into their new reception classes. It has been wonderful seeing all those coming up from nursery and those who are attending Aldwyn for the first time.
After an initial 'stay and play' with parents, we began with small groups of children visiting by themselves for a short time each day and after two weeks the children were ready to attend for the full school day.
The children have all adapted fantastically to their new school environment and it has been fantastic for them to meet so many new friends. They have explored all the different learning areas both inside and outside and kept themselves very busy indeed. With all the fantastic weather we've had the outside area has been a particular hit.
The children have enjoyed learning their new routines and classroom rules. Eating dinner at school has been a brand new experience for them all and they have all thoroughly enjoyed them. Fish and Chips on a Friday has proved itself very popular already.
All the teachers and staff are so proud of how all the children have adapted to their new school routines. Well done everyone!

We hope you had a lovely summer!
It has been wonderful to meet the children this week and they have all settled so well.
They have been very excited to meet their new friends and to play in the different areas.
Our focus for the next few weeks will be to ensure the children are settled and happy coming into school. We know it is an anxious and exciting time for families so if you have any concerns or questions, any member staff will be happy to help.
On Friday the children will be bringing home their first reading book!!
It is an opportunity to share special, quiet time with your child.
We do not expect your child to be able to read the words but you can talk about what is happening in the pictures.
For your information :
PE - Monday and Friday - please have a labelled PE kit in school.
Library - Friday - these are kept at home for a week, then returned for the following week.
