A very warm welcome to our class page

Our P.E days are Tuesday and Friday.

Our Class

Spring 2
We have been learning about people who help us.

We were  very lucky to have a visit from two police officers who explained how they help us.

The children loved the seeing the police van and hearing the siren…. It was very loud. 🚐

The children found a bowl on the floor full of tangerines. They tried to predict what might have happen and who could have left the mess 🤷‍♀️🤷.....it was a mystery.

They wrote their predictions on post it notes.

Some children spotted the story Handa’s Surprise and thought it could be Handa or an animal from the book. Super detective work 🕵️‍♀️ 🔍

After sharing the story the children had lots of fun tasting the different fruit... they even had the chance to try a guava 🥝🍌🍊🍈

They matched the animal to the fruit and thought of different words to describe a pineapple 🍍.

We have been learning about how to keep our bodies healthy by the food we eat. The children have sorted healthy and unhealthy food and designed their own healthy meal.

Spring 1

This half term we have been learning all about different traditional tales.

The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Gingerbread Man and The Elves and the Shoemaker have been the main focus for our learning and English work.  We have also shared many other tales together discussing our favourites.

Some activities have included - painting animals, exploring materials for making houses,  planting beans, decorating gingerbread men, designing and making shoes, learning new dances, wearing our special shoes, acting out the stories and retelling the tales using class generated actions.  We have used our phonics knowledge to write cvc words and labels we have even attempted our own sentences.

This year, as Shrove Tuesday is in the holidays we still couldn’t resist the opportunity of flipping pancakes. We had great fun 🥞 😁.

We have loved learning all about Chinese New Year and how the festival is celebrated. We made dragons and masks and used them to dance a dragon dance.

Autumn 2 - Christmas

Autumn 2  - We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

The first part of this half term we explored the text ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen.

We had mysterious footprints found in the classroom and the children tried to predict who may have left the mess? It was a mystery....... A book was then found and we shared the story together along with the actions.  All this exciting work then followed......

Autumn 2 - Jackson Pollock and Bonfire Art

Autumn 2 - Autumn Walk

Autumn 1 - Harvest

Autumn 1 - What the Ladybird Heard
